Find out if food sensitivities are causing your IBS, fibro, RA, or other autoimmune issues.

Success Stories

"I'm down 6 lbs (in 7 days) and I FEEL SO GOOD. I was nervous about some of these foods and my history of bloating, but found out I'm doing just fine and learned I love beets and cooked cabbage. And I'm not constipated anymore." - IBS & fibromyalgia client

If everyday feels like an experiment with your bowels due to IBS or another digestive issue....
Or you aren't sure if you can live with the discomfort of your fibromyalgia...
Or your joints feel like throbbing balloons too often...
Or you're afraid the next thing you're going to eat is going to cause bloating that will last hours, if not days....
Or your migraines make you want to throw up...

You don't deserve that. And you can heal. Without expensive medications.

Maybe you've experimented already, and experimented some more....but you still aren't getting quite the results you'd like.

You're as unique as a snowflake. And we can embrace that.

I use a 3-step system to help clients go from feeling "not-so-hot" to feeling the best they've felt in a LONG time:

This is the system I wish I'd had in my practice years ago for digestive and inflammatory issues that seemed like a random collection of unrelated symptoms and for my own eczema 15 years ago. It's a food sensitivity test called MRT that boasts over 90% accuracy + a protocol called LEAP that is aimed to get you better in the shortest amount of time possible.

A test that gives you ANSWERS to what is causing your issues & a provider personally committed creating a custom plan for your success. How about that for health care reform?

Success Stories

"Someone wanted to sell me a probiotic, and I told them I didn't need it because I had LEAP and it's great! I was able to stop all my supplements and feel amazing!"

Why is MRT + LEAP the best system for food sensitivities?

[watch this video explaining the test and protocol]

My own mentor, Susan, beautifully explains why MRT + LEAP protocol we use is the best method for food sensitivities and reversing inflammation and sensitivities + some results where she showcases how an IBS client's symptoms were reduced by 80% in just 10 days.

This program is AMAZING for:

What else is MRT food sensitivity testing good for?

While these are just some of the conditions or symptoms that are often associated with long term inflammation (inflammation is usually flying under the radar for a long time before symptoms present!), the list practically grows by the day.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Ulcerative Colitis
  • Heartburn
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
  • Chronic sinusitis
  • Eczema/psoriasis/rash/hives
  • Cystic acne
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Weight fluctuations
  • Fatigue (tired, sluggish)
  • Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)
  • Hyperactive energy
  • Depression
  • Anxiety (uneasiness)
  • Mood swings
  • Lack of concentration & brain fog
  • Sinus Congestion
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Bloating
  • Water retention
  • and many other conditions and symptoms

How does it work?

LEAP is also a great option for those wanting a completely individualized anti-inflammatory diet, regardless of whether symptoms/conditions are present. Inflammation can go unnoticed (it doesn't always produce obvious symptoms) and can lead to chronic health problems down the road, so those wanting to know which foods contribute the least amount of inflammation for their bodies may want to consider LEAP.

Many athletes have also utilized LEAP to aid in their athletic performance and to improve recovery.

“How quickly will I see results?”

Most clients experience significant improvement in their symptoms in the first 10 days on the program. Symptoms then continue to improve for the next 4 – 6 weeks.

Many clients experience complete symptom improvement (Oh.my.gosh, WHAT?! I KNOW!!!) but your response will vary depending on:

  • How closely you follow your LEAP program. Following the protocol we develop for you will help you achieve the best results.
  • How long you’ve had your symptoms and condition(s). Damage due to inadequate nutrition, harsh medications, or chronic inflammation may take longer to reverse in some cases.
  • The degree to which food sensitivity plays a role in your condition. Other factors such as vitamin D status, B12 deficiency, and certain bacteria can contribute to symptoms as well.

What does the Fast Track to Fabulous Program include?

  • Mediator Release Test (MRT) of 150 foods and chemicals.
  • Hassle-free coordination of your lab kit. The lab kit will be shipped to your home and I’ll assist you with finding a local lab or phlebotomist to perform the blood draw. All you have to do is take your kit and get your blood drawn.
  • Pre-paid FedEx Express shipping to guarantee your test kit arrives on-time & results get back to you in 10 days or less
  • 60 page booklet + MRT results – detailing reactive foods/chemicals, basic recipes, shopping tips, menu planners, restaurant survival guide, common sources of chemicals/additives, and more
  • 60-90 minute Initial Consultation to review results, highlight key dietary changes, and plan meals to implement Phase 1 of your LEAP diet. I'll help you map out your first week of meals (breakfasts, lunches, dinners, & snacks) so you know exactly what to eat!
  • Consult 2 (7-10 days after starting Phase 1) The first week is a period of transition and I'm sure (like most clients!) you'll have tons of questions, so we’ll go through them and get them all answered, go over your progress, and keep you moving forward on your LEAP diet. We’ll also plan which foods are safe to include in Phase 2 of your diet.
  • Consult 3 & 4 (spaced 1-2 weeks apart) By this point, you’re symptoms are definitely getting better, your diet is less strict, and you’re “testing the waters” by adding in new foods. We’ll choose which foods to include in Phases 3-5, and plan your transition back to a more “normal” way of eating. Remember, I’m here to support & guide you 100% of the way! (that's my j.o.b.!)
  • Consult 5 (scheduled 6-7 weeks after starting your elimination diet) Now that your symptoms are no longer an issue, we want to keep it that way. Remaining on a limited diet and eating the same thing every day can lead to new food sensitivities developing. That’s why planning the Phase 6 rotation diet is so important. In this visit, I'll tailor a custom plan to keep you feeling well long after we’re done working together (including exploring your nutritional supplement needs, if any).
  • E-mail support through weekly review of your food & symptom diary. Staying aware of your foods/symptoms and being accountable is paramount to your success. If something is not going right or you’re not feeling better, we need to fix it fast!
  • Assistance planning recipes for meals, snacks, desserts & beverages. Remember, I've done the dirty work for you! You’re not in this alone and I'm at your disposal.

This program is for you if...

  • You are ready to get to the root cause of your symptoms, stop covering them up with medication and instead heal through food.
  • You want an easier way to identify food sensitivities instead of following another run-of-the-mill restrictive diet.
  • You are willing to modify your food intake for at least a month to promote healing. (If you're not ready right now, but you want to do this in the near future, I'd suggest jumping on the waitlist HERE.

This program is not for you if...

  • You don’t see the value in investing in your own health. You’d rather get a prescription and take a pill to fix your problems.
  • You think your diet has nothing to do with your health problems.
  • You are unwilling to give up any particular food for 2 weeks (if you test reactive to chocolate, can you live without it for 2 weeks?)
  • You rely on packaged foods and take-out and are unable to cook from scratch (or are unwilling to have someone cook from scratch for you.)
  • You don’t have the time or interest in trying new recipes and experimenting in the kitchen.

It's time to get serious with how you spend your "get better" dollars. Do you want to keep running to appointments, procedures, the pharmacy and getting tests without answers? Or do you want a WHOLE-person approach that will allow your body to heal, so you can feel like the rockstar you are again?

It's my personal conviction to get your results. In fact, it's my mission. If you aren't a candidate for this program, I won't encourage you to sign up. I'll refer you on or suggest a 1:1 nutrition session where we dig deeper and create an action planned solution.

Need some more nitty gritty details?

With a blood test called MRT (mediator release test), you find out how your body reacts to 150 point marker of foods and chemicals. The mediator release test tells you which foods and chemicals trigger the release of inflammatory mediators in your body (things like immunoglobulins – IgG, IgM, IgA, cytokines, histamine, interleukins, etc).

MRT quantifies all of these reactions rather than focusing on just one marker.

The result? You get an accurate picture of how your body responds as a whole to each of the foods and chemicals tested. It’s truly like getting 150 separate blood tests in one.

Using this information, we get to work making a plan that excludes your reactive foods and chemicals long enough that your body can heal. We call this nutrition therapy part "LEAP," because it allows you to take a leap out of a life that’s dictated by symptoms and into one where you’re in charge.

Heck yes.

I said it before, you ARE as unique as a snowflake, and we're going to customize the plan just for you.

We start with your least reactive foods to allow your immune and digestive system to settle down and begin healing. Gradually, we will start reintroducing other foods until you are back to eating like a normal person, just without the debilitating symptoms.

And because no one likes being hangry, we'll work together to be sure you have delicious options. This is not the hunger games. This is healing. And, most likely, you will probably lose weight that's been hanging out due to inflammation as a side effect.

Good Question!

+ Is this like allergies? I've had skin prick testing that came back negative.
A: Allergies and sensitivities are different. Most conditions like IBS, migraines, and fibromyalgia are not caused by an allergic reaction. It takes a different type of test, not an allergy test, to determine food sensitivities.
Allergy testing measures type I, IgE-mediated immune response. Food sensitivity testing measures type III and IV, non-IgE-mediated response.
While it’s important to know about any life-threatening IgE allergies you may have, it’s also important to know what’s causing sub-clinical inflammation that leads to water retention, fatigue, insomnia, arthritis, diarrhea, and so much more.

+ Why doesn't my doctor know about MRT?
A: MRT is a relatively new technology that is becoming more common, however, many physicians are simply not familiar with it yet. MRT was developed by Dr Pasula, an immunologist with over 35 years experience and an authority in blood testing for sensitivities (he created ALCAT first and then made MRT as a more updated and accurate test--94.5% accuracy vs 80%. ALCAT can tell you that you're speeding but MRT can tell that + how fast you're going). Since MRT and the LEAP protocol are diet-directed, registered dietitian/nutritionists are often in a better pace to know about MRT and assist patients. But as the word spreads, more physicians are using and recommending MRT/LEAP to their patients.

+ I did an elimination diet and it didn't work. How is this different?
A: The difference between LEAP and a standard eliminate diet is 1. No guessing; we have an accurate blood test to guide what foods are safest for you. and 2. Unlike elimination diets that remove suspected offenders, LEAP starts by offering you the least reactive foods. It's the most effective, direct way to remove inflammation so you're body can heal. There is no "one size fits all" when you're suffering from the effects of foods sensitivities. One person's kale is another person's kryptonite.

+ Are food sensitivities forever?
A: It depends. Sometimes no matter how long a food is avoided, it will still trigger symptoms. Other times, the immune system calms down and heals from following the LEAP protocol to where some sensitivities go away entirely. Immune system cells have different lengths of memory, so while you may see significant improvement in 10-14 days, reintroducing some foods without issue might be farther down the road. Also, some foods are dose dependent, meaning you can tolerate small quantities of a reactive food or chemical vs a large amount. And then some people find that a particular food is never tolerated. It really depends and we'll talk about immune system memory, length of time for challenging and reintroducing food and with MRT, you have a GPS guiding you with which foods to add in, so ultimately you'll be making an aware decision to eat with confidence instead of stress. YES! So test, don't guess.

+ Do you accept insurance?
I do not directly bill to insurance, however, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Insurance is always changing, so you might want to check with your company to see if they will cover RD visits. If they don't, you can also request that they start covering services. Most people find that RD services and food sensitivity testing is covered by their HSA or FSA.

+ My symptoms aren't digestive. Could MRT still work for me?
Yes. Food sensitivities affect more than just digestion and they affect affect 75% of the population (I KNOW! Crazy!). I call the reaction from food sensitivities "poison darts." While the darts can start to cause stomach or digestive issues in some, the effects can travel to other parts of the body causing headaches and other symptoms. Many chronic conditions are related to inflammation in some way, so identifying and eliminating reactive foods and chemicals can often alleviate symptoms. It's why arthritis, joint issues, headaches, fibromyalgia, migraines, sinus issues, acne, rosacea, eczema and other skin problems often improve with the LEAP protocol.

The best way for me to know if you're affected by food sensitivities and apply to be a client is to schedule a free 15 minute consult.

+ I can't start the LEAP protocol right now because XYZ reason. Can I get on the waitlist to work with you in the near future?
A: You bet. The waitlist is HERE

Regardless, I would still like to chat to let you know if this is a good fit for you. If you're interested, book that call HERE.

+ Can I get the blood test done without the consults?
A: I remember when I first got my results before I talked to my mentor. I was LOST. And I had already started the training to become a provider myself.
It's another language.

What if you come back reactive to benzoic acid? Do you know which foods, supplements, and personal care products to avoid? What about solanine? salicylic acid? tyramine? sulfites? Or any one of the 30 chemicals tested on MRT?

This is an excursion for which you want an interpreter. Without it, you're not getting the benefits of MRT + LEAP, which are to calm the immune system so that you hopefully won't have these sensitivities and symptoms anymore. There is a strategy and a lot of clinical knowledge involved. A lot. Getting the test without an interpreter is a lot like what you have possibly already been doing: spending weeks eating a restrictive diet that's incomplete, starves your body and doesn't resolve your symptoms (or makes then worse), and spending hours DIYing your research and feeling pulled in several directions. You are unique. Your time is valuable (so is mine!).

You just have to decide that you're worth it. That your life is worth feeling better than you do right now.

[Spoiler Alert: you DO deserve to feel amazing.]

Success Stories

"I did the MRT (mediator release test) and LEAP. It was AMAZING. I had NO IDEA that a side-effect would be — GOODBYE DIGESTION problems/pains etc. During this time when I was 97%-100% compliant I felt great! Please note that under the care of a registered dietician, we’re able to determine — the “other” foods that are showing symptoms that didn’t show up on the test--example certain foods to avoid for autoimmune issues. It also explained why I just couldn’t feel good on AIP — because CHICKEN was my HIGHEST reaction! This was also true for avocados, which are AIP friendly but had to be taken out to start for my tyrosine issues. As soon as I ate oats — hello phlegm… Hello not feeling so great. I eat nearly all “WHOLE FOODS” and have been doing so for nearly the entire year (and on and off for years before this) and once again — the MRT/LEAP test (updated ALCAT) is just amazing." -Susie
